Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using YEN ("the Software"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use YEN. It's that simple.

YEN is a free, GPU-accelerated terminal emulator for macOS. It includes built-in speech-to-text, a file browser, chat rooms, a mail client, and a weather command. It is provided at no cost and does not require an account for local desktop terminal usage.

YEN is free to use for personal and commercial purposes. You may install it on any Mac you own or operate. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute the Software or any of its components.

• Use YEN in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Do not use the built-in chat rooms to harass, spam, or distribute harmful content.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or exploit YEN's services (chat, update servers).
• You are responsible for your own data, files, and terminal commands. YEN executes what you tell it to.

YEN includes built-in chat rooms with public channels. Messages and images are visible to all connected users and retained for 80 hours. We reserve the right to moderate content and block users who violate these terms. Prohibited conduct includes:

• Harassment, abuse, or threats
• Spam or commercial solicitation
• Sharing malware or malicious links
• Sharing inappropriate, illegal, or explicit images
• Impersonation of others

The YEN name, logo, branding, and source code are the property of YEN and its contributors. "YEN" and the YEN logo may not be used in connection with other products or services without written permission.

YEN is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all systems. Use it at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YEN and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to data loss, system damage, or loss of profits.

YEN may automatically check for and install updates. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Software at any time. We'll do our best to communicate significant changes via our blog.

We may update these terms as YEN evolves. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We'll update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.
